Should we change the name to drop the word "union"?

Magic Tournament Players Ass.
Hmmm...something's not quite right about that but I can't put my finger on it. Come to think of it, I don't want to put my finger on it.

Can we quit this argument already and stick with what Levy had already created. This has been dragging on for over a month.
I like the name and it's already here to stay until the day Levy and the people who helped him put it together decide to change it.

Well that's your opinion, which is shared by 5 other people who voted while 14 people disagree with you. (No one knows how many others are out there until they start voting). So please don't destroy this positive discussion with your trollish attitudes. Also Feb 25th-March 2nd does not equal a month, this is more like what, not even a week? You need to chill guy.
Levy says it's here to stay for now, but they are going to consider a change when they finish creating the new website. This makes sense since there's no need to change what isn't going to stay up. He also says he's taking these discussions into consideration for suggestions and group feelings. So if you really want to keep the name as it is, you seriously need to start coming up with better arguments than "I like the name and it's already here to stay." Also, being a troll and trashing everyone else opinions will not help your cause.

I don't like the idea of changing it, but I think we should all be willing, as was previously posted, to simply discuss in polite dulcet tones the implications of this name change, and then support the outcome of the majority vote. This may seem a little slanted, since the position I'm supporting has twice as many votes as the other, but I hope that more of the multitudes of people who frequent this side will put in their two cents, and that this decision is the product of the great majority, not the minor minority. Also, whatever happens, I will follow the will of the majority when the last vote is counted, whether I agree or not.

IOC favours track legacy for 2012 stadium
The International Olympic Committee would like the London 2012 Olympic Stadium running track to be retained, but it has no power over the decision.
Tottenham propose removing the track in their bid to take over the site, but West Ham's rival offer would keep it.
IOC president Jacques Rogge said it "would not intervene" in the issue although he wants an athletics legacy.
The Olympic Park Legacy Committee (OPLC) is due to recommend who should take over the stadium by 28 January.
With the OPLC's decision date looming, Rogge admitted: "We would favour a solution with a track legacy - that goes without saying.
"But the decision is in the hands of the OPLC along with UK Athletics and LOCOG.
606: DEBATE
If Spurs move to Stratford they should remove the word Tottenham from their name as it will no longer be relevant to the club

"If a solution could be found for the track we would be happy, but don't expect the IOC to intervene in an issue where we are not responsible."
Any decision will also have to be agreed by London mayor Boris Johnson and the government.
The OPLC has previously made it clear that it is keen to ensure a legacy for athletics at the site, something West Ham's bid appears sympathetic to.
However, Tottenham's architect, David Keirle, made a counter-argument, saying parts of the existing stadium may be taken down and used to help rebuild the Crystal Palace athletics venue, should their bid be favoured.
The Olympic Stadium is not the only option Tottenham are pursuing. Last year they received planning permission from Haringey Council for redeveloping their present home at White Hart Lane, which is called the Northumberland Development Project.
