Random Pro tour stats
I saw BDM linking to the Life Time Pro points list in his article today. The following has no relevance but I needed some data to do some spreadsheet functions test so I played a round with it a bit.
op 5 magic countries:
counting only top 1 in Pro Points
1 Germany (Budde)
2 USA (Finkel)
3 France (O Ruel)
4 Netherlands (Wiegersma)
5 Japan (Fujita)
Counting Top 3 in Pro Points
1. France 1064
2. USA 1023
3. Germany 824
4. Netherlands 823
5. Japan 742
Counting Top 5 in Pro Points
1. USA 1569
2. France 1527
3. Netherlands 1239
4. Japan 1169
5. Germany 1071
Counting Top 10 in Pro Points
1. USA 2774
2. Japan 2138
3. France 2005
4. Netherlands 1844
5. Germany 1567
Interesting Notes: None of USA top 10 players is currently active (barring an occasional Hall of Fame appearence.) France powerhouses are still very active, Japan has mos tof them still active, Germany has no pro with more than 100 points still active, Holland has about 50% still active. Given enough years it might be possible for France or Japan to overtake the USA. (looking at top 10 Pros) If we look at more people, like top 25 or top 50 the USA is leagues ahead of the rest of the world.

Re: Random Pro tour stats
Interesting stuff, but I should note that Finkel is still somewhat active as he is willing to play limited PTs in North America. So no, he doesn't travel as a globetrotter, but he does play when it is withing an easy hop.

Well I read he (Finkel) might even show up in KL as it would be the only Limited PT.

Re: Random Pro tour stats
BDM is only doing the lifetime over what has happened in data since 2004.
So he is quite off as the following data should look like this:
1. Japan
2. France
3. USA
4. Germany
5. Netherlands
Then the lifetime hasn't been accurately calculated as Oliver should have already be #2 on that list over Finkel. There is no proof of his claims that Finkel is #2 on that list so the posted list is invalid.
